Logen Ninefingers Sludgy, agitated and sneering, Glasgow’s Leash’ brand of noisy Punk Rock is as thought-provoking as it is confrontational. “Change is due..” they declare over Grungy power chords (think of the harsher numbers on Nirvana’s ‘In Utero’) on best track “Smirk”. Things remain as visceral and as revved-up across the remaining 4 tracks and they barely let the pace slacken. There’s not much room for melody, but this cassette works best as it is intended - a short, sharp shock to the system. Favorite track: Smirk.

showhornwithteeth This is a fun punk ep. Recommend if you like noise rock and punk. A good band can make noise sound musical, and this band can do that! Favorite track: Capitalist Power.

Punk fans might welcome this. I would've welcomed this in 1981, which is when I incorrectly guessed this was released. Vocalist figured out best vocal phrasing to complement the band while they nail a range of noisy punk styles developed circa late 70s/early 80s. Thomas Adams
